A-Rated Windows and Doors | Double Glazing Installation
A-rated windows and doors can make a huge difference to the comfort levels in your home.
A-rated windows and doors are usually double or even triple-glazed in colder climates and they include thermal seals that eliminate the gaps and prevent the heat from escaping.
Double glazing works by trapping air between two panes of glass, therefore creating an insulating barrier that reduces heat loss, noise and condensation.
Double glazing is one of the most popular home improvement / insulation jobs carried out. Although draught proofing and loft insulation are possibly more cost effective, double glazing leads the way, probably because the effects are more noticeable and immediate; the reduction of cold draughts, noise and increased comfort level around the house.
As approximately 15% of heat in your home is lost through windows and doors, upgrading and insulation your windows and doors can also result in a noticeable reduction in your heating bills.

A-Rated Windows and Doors - Proper insulation is vital
Many building contractors offer windows and doors installation. However, to get the most benefit from upgrading your windows and doors, they need to be fitted properly, not just mechanically sound but also with regards to insulation.
Even the best insulated frames, heat reflective glass and double seals on openings, can all be wasted if bad fitting lets cold air in around your frames and behind the architraves and cills.
ECO Builders Dublin not only fit top quality A- rated windows and doors, and fill any surrounding gaps with polyurethane foam.
They also tape all joins around the frame with a special, heat reflective insulation tape. This not only blocks draughts, but also ensures a proper thermal barrier around your windows and doors.
A-rated doors should be effective at keeping the heat in house, but they also need to be sturdy, elegant and secure. Our doors are so unique, that they are protected by a patent. The unique composition of the doors gives them massive strenght to weight ratio. A lighter door allowed our door manufacturers to design a new type, visually concealed hinge, resulting in a truly elegant look.
All our doors with glass insets are triple-glazed and use edgetech warm edge seals for the highest thermal efficiency possible .
